Ahhh, I wish I could type in a French accent. Look at these amazing photos of Paris cafes and nightlife in 1962. Ze gorgeous women! Ze smokey eyes! Ze glamorous leeps! Ze chic sunglasses! Ze poodle wis ze brie! Ohhh lala!
These images were taken the same week as Yves St. Laurent's runway show that launched the house of Dior to new and glittering heights. Double oooh lalala!!
The photographer was Tom Palumbo who also shot for Vogue and Bazaar in the 50s and 60s. You can see more of his work on his Flickr page.
thanks for sharing these pictures. I feel like scenes like this have been so recreated in movies and on tv, it's nice to actually see the real thing!
ReplyDeleteVery Dreamy!
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely Adoring the Oh so prim and proper...groomed to the hilt...POODLE!
I'm assuming that's some sort of French cheese he's sniffing!
Love your blog...makes me SMILE!
XXOOXX
oooh these are fabulous, thanks for posting them!
ReplyDeleteahh! tres joli! i love all the thick eye lashes and blue eye shadow... and that poodle is hilarious, if i were him i'd have eaten the cheese then licked the glaze off the plate just in case any cheese was remaining at a molecular level.
ReplyDeleteWhere do you find all of this fabulousness?
ReplyDeleteThat picture of the poodle sniffing the brie is something out of a Truffaut film.
I swear that picture of the couple in the car about to kiss looks like the latest Banana Republic ad campaign.
C'est incroyable!
